Caprice Nyen, M.A.
Executive Director
Caprice is the visionary founder and Executive Director of Worthy Voices. With more than 27 years of experience in human services, she has dedicated her career to addressing domestic violence, leading Battering Intervention and Prevention Programs (BIPP), and building community-centered solutions that prioritize both accountability and healing.
Her leadership spans program development, nonprofit management, and direct service, giving her a unique ability to bridge policy with practice.
Grounded in a deep commitment to equity and cultural responsiveness,
Caprice founded Worthy Voices in April 2025 to create unorthodox, tailored approaches to healing and empowerment for African American communities.
She is driven by the belief that every voice is worthy of being heard, and that safety, justice, and transformation are possible when we lead with compassion, accountability, and cultural truth.
Margaret Ann, Chair
Mrs. Ann brings wisdom, life experience, and a strong family-centered perspective that grounds Worthy Voices’ mission in community values. Passionate about the development of children and youth and has been a fearless advocate for more than 30 years.
She began working with Worthy Voices in May of 2025, bringing her dedication and heart to the organization’s growth.
Outside of her advocacy work, she enjoys spending time with her family and is committed to a long-term vision of expanding counseling programming focused on mental health and support for children and families.
Marquita, Vice-Chair
Marquita catalyzes great depth about human resources, public policies and strategic planning sharing over 15 years of experience in social services, specializing in domestic violence, housing, mental health, and child protective services.
Since 2022, she has partnered with Caprice on strategic ideas and planning, even lending her skills and time to a sister project, Pearl Blanket.
She officially began working with Worthy Voices with a commitment to help strengthen the organization in the areas of public policy and human relations, while also pursuing her long–term goal of completing her graduate-level education.
Ryan, Secretary
Ryan shares observant and safety-conscious leadership with Worthy that spans over 7 years of experience in social services, including domestic violence, sexual assault, behavioral health and program operations.
His background also includes professional experience in the legal field, working as a technical professional as well as extensive customer service expertise.
Combined with his lived experience navigating legal, immigration, and cultural needs, he brings a unique and grounded perspective to the team.
Since collaborating with Caprice on the sister project Pearl Blanket, he has remained a loyal supporter of the mission and a committed advocate for community safety and justice.
His long-term goal is to help expand conscientious programming for male survivors of violence and injustice, ensuring their needs are recognized and addressed with compassion and care.
Kaneesha, Treasurer
Kaneesha cultivates analytical thinking and is a conscientious steward of resources in her work with Worthy Voices, bringing over 27 years of experience in social services and serving in her current role as a licensed therapist. Her professional background includes managing programs and teams with a steady commitment to excellence and accountability.
Her philanthropic efforts spill over into nearly everything she does, with her deep faith serving as the foundation for her passion for helping others.
A lifelong friend and supporter of Caprice, she has contributed her skills and time to Worthy’s sister project, Pearl Blanket, and continues to stand as a strong pillar for the mission.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling the world, gaining valuable insights from diverse cultures and perspectives that inform her compassionate approach to leadership.
Her long-term goal with Worthy Voices is to help strengthen leadership within the organization and Voices of Change BIPP program, mentoring emerging leaders and building a strong foundation for the future.
Aakriti, Development Advisor
Aakriti, brings deep expertise in cultural responsiveness and domestic violence, with over 10 years focused on sexual violence services. She also holds graduate-level knowledge in public health with a concentration in behavioral and social health at the doctoral level.
She began formally working with Worthy in May 2025, but her involvement goes back further — assisting Caprice with transformative strategic planning that connected the sister project Pearl Blanket to the initial needs of Worthy Voices.
Since then, she has played a pivotal role in Worthy’s growth by strengthening public relations, connecting the organization to key consultants who are now instrumental in marketing development, and linking Worthy with legal professionals and resources.
Her long-term goal is to continue supporting Worthy’s overall development while amplifying its impact on the public. This passion drives her commitment, even as she navigates the joys and challenges of new motherhood, demonstrating resilience and vision in all that she contributes.
Sadhana, Strategy Advisor
Priya brings more than 7 years of dedicated and enthusiastic service supporting diverse populations, with expertise in domestic violence, sexual violence programs, crisis hotline coordination, and program management.
She began working with Worthy Voices in May 2025, and had the opportunity to collaborate closely with Caprice on pivotal programs, including leading crisis hotline teams, coordinating with community stakeholders on human trafficking initiatives, and managing program operations.
Currently, she is pursuing her long-term goal of graduate-level program completion while working alongside Caprice on a collaborative project aimed at enhancing staff engagement, professional development, and organizational culture for nonprofit organizations. Her commitment blends practical experience, leadership, and a passion for strengthening communities and nonprofit impact.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, experiencing the culture of Austin and other lands, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Loida, Financial Advisor
Loida, devotes fiery and strategic energy to community justice and grassroots engagement with Worthy Voices, bringing over a decade of financial leadership experience in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. She doesn’t just stay behind the scenes managing finances — she is intricately involved in the movements she cares about, using her expertise and lived experiences to support outreach initiatives and community engagement.
In her spare time, she is lovingly immersed in the lives of her family and friends, and enjoys the companionship of her special furry friend, Princess. Her dedication blends professional acumen with personal passion, making her a vital force in Worthy’s mission.
